Thanks to Mr. Petushin’s excellent conditioning and training program I was able to handle both situations easily.

Since I started training at Petushin Martial Arts I’ve had a misfortune to get involved in two confrontations:  The first one happened while my girlfriend and I were having a nice time with our friends at the lake.  A drunk man that outweigh me by at least 75lbs started harassing my girlfriend.  I asked him to stop, we exchanged some unflattering words and the man charged me.  I caught him in a choke hold and made him pass out within a few seconds.  After he regained his concesness to he wanted nothing to do with me. The second incident involved an intruder trying to break into my vehicle at 3:30AM on a Saturday.  Realizing I needed to act quickly and ruling out other options I confronted the man.   He started running and I gave chase.  When I caugh up with him I quickly gained control of him using a  shoulder lock.  Thanks to Mr. … Read entire article »

I would recommend this class to any person regardless of their age or experience…

“I had just received my Black Belt in TaeKwonDo when my instructor accepted a new job offer out of town. I was looking for something new and heard that Cross Training was the way to go. I stopped by Mr. Petushin’s class one day and checked out his class structure. The class seemed like a good opportunity for me so I gave it a try. I’m very grateful that I did. Mr. Petushin is very patient and lets his students train at their own pace and skill level. He wants you to learn the techniques and then practice them over and over until you get them engrained in your head. His abundance of knowledge is top of the line. Mr. Petushin can show you how to attack and counter at any … Read entire article »

This program is ideal for both the beginner and experienced fighter

I have been searching for a Martial Arts program for some time now – although I competed in Karate many years ago, I wanted to find a Martial Arts program that could teach my son (9 year old) and I about throwing techniques and grappling. After being referred to Paul’s Judo / BJJ classes by a friend of mine, I can attest to the fact that his program is ideal for both the beginner and experienced fighter. Paul’s skill level is superior to most that I have seen and his teaching style is appropriate for both adults and children. I would recommend his class to anyone wanting to learn about Martial Arts, looking to get back in shape, or for the experienced fighter looking to improve themselves for competitive reasons.” - … Read entire article »

Combat Judo/BJJ class is geared to fit anyone’s level of experience.

Paul’s Combat Judo/BJJ class is geared to fit anyone’s level of experience. When I first started training with Mr. Petushin, I had never done any kind of martial arts before. I figured that I would try it out and if it was too difficult, then at least I tried. As it turns out, it was just right for me. Mr. Petushin makes every student feel welcome, and gives personal attention when needed. Mr. Petushin makes you feel like he wants you to succeed. I would highly recommend his Combat Judo/BJJ program to anyone! - Nate Lyness … Read entire article »

Combat Judo, with it’s combination of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo, will prepare you for any self-defense situation you can think of

“I’ve been involved in the martial arts for over 30 years. I’ve studied Shotokan Karate, Aikido and Wing-Chun Kung-Fu, among other styles. Paul Petushin’s Combat Judo surpasses all of them. Protecting yourself should be the most important aspect of any martial art. In a real-life situation, you have over a 90% chance of the fight ending up on the ground. Combat Judo, with it’s combination of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo, will prepare you for any self-defense situation you can think of.  In addition, the training method Mr. Petushin uses provides the best all-around conditioning of any other style I’ve studied. Not only am I a student of Mr. Petushin, but two of my sons are also students. It’s the best all-around martial arts program for adults and children available in … Read entire article »
